JOURNAL

I climbed 2,600 stairs with an elevation gain of 1,060 feet.

I crocheted my first handbag. I used colors that are found in the forest like green, brown and gray.

It took me about a week to complete it.

A Metro bus drivers was dressed up as an elf and had twinkling lights on the dashboard of the bus.

I spent the entire morning calling the donation bins at Treehouse, barrels.

Someone, please get me a coffee. Preferably, an iced coffee with oat milk and honey.

I watched someone in a beekeeping suit relocate a beehive.

As I walked past the bees, I kept my arms close to my body and whispered,

"Please don’t sting me, please don't sting me, please don't sting me."

I got a bag full of free plums and apples and a jar of homemade jam at a

City Fruit event called Fruit-For-All.

I made it through the COVID-19 pandemic without catching the COVID-19 virus.

I had one scare at the end that turned out to be an ear infection.

Jif is sending me coupons to replace two jars of peanut butter that I bought.

Both (unopened) jars of peanut butter are on their recall list.

You can get one free original glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts if you present your

COVID-19 vaccination card to the cashier.

I turned a pile of oatmeal colored yarn into two boot cuffs, a headband and a scarf.

The boot cuffs are my favorite.

I watched the entire Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

My favorite performance was New York City Ballet's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

I'm turning a stick of rock candy into a rest stop for butterflies.

It's not fragrant. But, it is sweet.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet are stretched across the sky in my mom's backyard.

One of my mom's caregivers gave me a butterfly bag,

crochet hooks and a box full of colorful yarn.

One of my mom's neighbors brought over two bags of apples.

I used some of the apples to make a caramel apple pie.

Yesterday was exhausting. I spent the entire day making chocolate chip cookies,

rice crispie treats and s'mores for tomorrow's barbeque.

I spotted three butterflies drinking water at the edge of Lake Leland.

One of the butterflies was very photogenic.

My mom's dogs have been wandering in and out of the kitchen for over an hour.

They're patiently waiting for their paw print snacks to finish baking.

My mom spent most of the morning gathering, rinsing and packaging eggs

for family, friends and neighbors.
